  • Most of the theses and scientific research are directed to assessing and solving the problems of the agricultural environment.
  • Using modern technologies and environmentally friendly materials that are economically viable to reduce pollution and overcome water scarcity and climatic changes in agricultural lands.
  • Studying the applications of nanotechnology in agriculture
2. Research projects:
  • The participation in the project of reusing treated sewage water in the cultivation of new lands and combating desertification in the Abu Rawash farm (project ICARDA)
  • The French project (ENCA) in the period from 2002 to 2005 which was a company between the French company BRGM and the Soils, Water, and Environment Research Institute (SWERI). The SWERI represented in the Department of Environment under the title (Study of pollutants of soil, water and plants in the new lands and The SWERI represented in the Department of Environment under the title “Study of pollutants of soil, water and plants in the new lands”).
  • The project of utilizing sewage water to produce biofuels through the cultivation of jotropha and jojoba plants on the wastewater of Luxor, Ismailia and Marsa Matrouh, funded by the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development in 2009.
  • Environmental study project for West Greater Cairo in 2013
  • Environmental impact assessment of some industries in Helwan, Cairo, Egypt in 2015.
  • Environmental Impact Assessment of Organic and Conventional Agriculture in 2018.
  • A qualitative and quantitative study of the water of the main Gharbia Bank and its branches in the year 2020.

3-The Environmental problems that have been responded by Environment department:
  • Determining the state of contamination of sewage sludge represented from the sludge collection and drying site 9 in Alexandria (January 2013)
  • The environmental impact of factories located in industrial areas on the health of the population in the surrounding areas (January 2014).
  • Report on the environmental assessment of the residues of the Helwan Fertilizer Factory and the brick factories in the village of Arab Abu Saed (April 2014)
  • The problem of fish mortality in the mouth of the West Nubariya drain on the Mediterranean Sea (June 2014)
  • Dealing with the Problems related to class canal (August 2014)
  • The environmental impact of the factories in the industrial areas on the health of the population in the areas surrounding the area (9N) (September 2014).
  • The environmental monitoring of the phosphate sandal site in the Nile in the Dandara region - Qena Governorate Where samples were taken in June 2015 and August 2015 were analyzed and the necessary report was written.
  • The environmental monitoring of the water of the public drain to determine the suitability of the water for irrigation, as samples were taken along the drain on 10/18/2015, analyzed and the necessary report was written.
  • A study was conducted on the quality of the water of Lake Mariout to prevent pollution of the Mediterranean Sea, where water samples were taken from the lake and its feeding branches (Commons drain-Castle drain) and the necessary analyzes were conducted on them and the report was written
  • The environmental impact of the factories in the industrial zone was studied for the companies area (carbon black, petrochemicals and gas company) and the Nile Sugar Company.
  • The environmental monitoring of Lake Nasser samples to determine the extent of their contamination with mercury, lead and arsenic. Samples were collected from the lake and the required elements were estimated and the necessary report was written
  • The environmental impact of the factories in the industrial zone. Water samples were taken from inside the Middle East Petroleum Refining Company (Midor), also from the company’s expulsion pipe on West Nubariya Bank on 11/19/2015 and the necessary analyzes were conducted on them and the required report was written
  • The Environmental monitoring of the Gharbia Bank (Kitchener) to determine the extent of pollution by taking samples along the drain on 2/23/2016, analyzing them and writing the necessary report.
  • Dealing with the problem of the Qantara Canal received from the National Service Projects Organization (Ministry of Defense) to the Institute regarding their request to provide them with the validity of the Qantara Canal water for human and animal consumption and to determine the types of crops or orchards that are recommended to be grown on this water
  • Dealing with the problem of the Directorate of Agriculture in Qena regarding the information regarding the following regarding the number of (8) artesian water wells used in the irrigation of an area of ​​75 thousand acres in the district of Al-Gabalawy - Qena Center.
  • Dealing with the problem of the Salam Canal, where the Environmental Research Department, represented by the Land Research Institute, participated in a committee composed of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Water Resources, the Ministry of Housing and the Armed Forces to take water samples from different sites of the Salam Canal to determine the sources of pollution in it.
  • Dealing with the problem of Abu Ghaleb Canal in Assiut, based on the assignment of Mr. Professor, Director of the Institute, the Department of Environmental Research, in cooperation with the Microbiology Department, prepared a report on the agricultural land irrigated with sewage water, starting from the Arab Al-Danabigh station until the end of the Bani Ghalib Canal Branch 3 in the village of Jahdam.
